Claude Spaak (1904–1990) was a Belgian dramatist and playwright, and the brother of Belgian Prime Minister Paul-Henri Spaak. His first wife was Suzanne Spaak, a prominent World War II French Resistance operative executed by the Gestapo in August 1944. The couple had a deep, lifelong artistic friendship, patronage, and creative collaboration. Claude Spaak was one of the earliest supporters of the world-renowned Belgian surrealist painter.
