An exceptional Antwerp Baroque ebony and ebonised cabinet inset with painted copper panels with Old Testamentic scenes, ca. 1650 The two moulded-panel doors enclose a series of small drawers that encircle a small central door, behind which is an architectural interior with columns, arches, mirrors, and a parquet floor of ebony and bone cubes, the inside of the doors and all the drawers painted with scenes from the Old Testament. The concave top includes a compartment with a mirror. The whole rests on a plexi base. The Old Testamentic scenes depict: - the left door panel: The Sacrifice of Isaac - the right door panel: Susanna and the Elders - the central door panel: Adam and Eve picking the apple in Paradise - the four left drawer panels: Lot and his Daughters, The Dream of Jacob, Hagar, Isamël and the Angel, and Jacob and Rachel. - the four right drawer panels: Tobias and the Archangel Raphael, David and Abigaïl, King David the Shepherd, and the Angel Appearing to Elijah - the central drawer: Jacob wrestling with the Angel Liveveiling: het getoonde tijdstip is de start van de zaalverkoop; het individuele afhamermoment is niet gepubliceerd.
